The New York Jets and New York Giants participated in a two-day joint practice session against each other.
On Thursday, August 14, Giants pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux was asked for his evaluation of Jets quarterback Justin Fields after going against him during those practice sessions.
“You know it’s tough for quarterbacks right now, especially in practice. Especially for us, we got guys like me, [Brian] Burns, Dex[ter] Lawrence, Chauncey [Golston], Nacho [Rakeem Nuñez-Roches]. Like he [Fields] was under a bit of pressure, so I can’t really give you a full analysis on what I think of him as a quarterback because he did have to run and scramble and do a lot of things. So yeah, you guys have to probably take a look at that on your own,” Thibodeaux explained.
Oh boy…#Giants DL Kayvon Thibodeaux raised some eyebrows with his ‘evaluation’ of #Jets QB Justin Fields after two joint practices against each other:

“Remember when Thibodeaux went offside against the Jets and single handedly lost his team the game? The game was over if he doesn’t line up offsides. Let his entire team and fanbase down. Honestly felt bad he is the sole reason the Giants haven’t beat the Jets in 14 years,” Jets content creator NYJ Matt posted.

Thibodeaux Reveals Jets Draft Story From 2022
The Jets held two picks inside the top-10 of the 2022 NFL draft: No. 4 overall and No. 10 overall. That additional first-round draft choice came via the Seattle Seahawks via the Jamal Adams blockbuster trade.
There were a lot of rumors leading up to that draft linking the Jets to Thibodeaux.
NFL Insider Connor Hughes said on the “NFL Stock Exchange” podcast in March of 2022 that he didn’t see how the Jets could pass on Thibodeaux, “I think that’s going to be the selection at [pick] No. 4.”
‘I really don’t see how #Jets pass on Kayvon Thibodeaux (@kayvont) I think that’s going to be the selection at No. 4’ + ‘he is going to flourish in NY’ + ‘I don’t think NYJ is worried about’ all the concerns about personality/brand @Connor_J_Hughes to @ConnorJRogers on NFLSE 🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/zCc3AWtkye

Thibodeaux went on a pre-draft visit to the Jets’ facilities that offseason in 2022.
During his media availability on Thursday, August 14, Thibodeaux revealed a new story on what transpired.
“Honestly, no, I didn’t think I was going to go to the Jets. It’s funny, I’m going to share this story. You know when you go on those [top] 30 visits? You do those tests, and man, I was so tired, I was jet lagged, and they [the Jets] had me doing the tests, and I don’t know why I couldn’t do the test. One of the tests was just messing me up, and I just quit it and was like, yeah, they might not take me off that. I’m like, yeah, they might not take me because I was like, yo, I’m too tired for this, I’m done,” Thibodeaux revealed.
