Kevin De Bruyne rejected approaches from two Premier League clubs before reaching an agreement to join Napoli this summer.
De Bruyne announced earlier this season that this would be his last with the club he joined back in 2015.
The 33-year-old has established himself as one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history over the past decade, winning six league titles, seven domestic cups and the Champions League.
De Bruyne has scored over 100 goals for Man City and made 177 assists – the second-most in Premier League history.
The Belgian playmaker suggested he wanted to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium but Manchester City decided to move him on as they look to rebuild under Pep Guardiola following a poor campaign.

De Bruyne was contacted by at least two Premier League clubs over a summer move but has decided to leave England altogether and join Serie A champions Napoli.
According to talkSPORT, Aston Villa and West Ham both made ambitious moves for De Bruyne and tried to tempt him to stay in the English top-flight.

But De Bruyne had reservations about joining another English club and appears to have chosen Naples as his next destiation.
It was reported last week that De Bruyne has reached an agreement to join Napoli this summer and the club’s president has suggested a deal could soon be announced.
Speaking to RAI during the club’s Serie A title celebrations, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said: ‘Will he get to lift this cup too? Probably yes.

‘I know that he’s sorted a few things already and I believe he’s already bought a beautiful villa.
‘This morning I was on a video call with him, his wife and his nine-year-old son and it was a beautiful sight.’
De Bruyne is also believed to have rejected moves to Saudi Arabia and MLS before deciding to join the likes of Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku at Napoli.
After De Bruyne’s departure from Manchester City was confirmed, Guardiola said: ‘A sad day but a happy day for the fact that I had the pleasure personally to live this time with him.
‘What he gave us, all of us, with his humanity and his influence in our success in the last decade. Of course, part of us is leaving. When Vincent or Sergio or David left, these players have contributions.
‘He’s one of the greatest in this country. Always I have to be careful for the respect for the players that have played incredible roles, but there’s no doubt he’s one of the greatest for sure.
‘The doors are open here for the rest of his life. He’s part of this family, this club.’
