Lane Kiffin Earns Major Bonus From Ole Miss Win Over Georgia

Lane Kiffin isn’t the coach of Ole Miss anymore, since he left the Rebels on November 30, 2025, to become the head coach at LSU. But, Kiffin still gets a large bonus thanks to the Rebels’ riveting win over the Georgia Bulldogs on New Year’s Day, January 1.

The Ole Miss Rebels were able to close out a 39-34 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in the game, thanks to a game-winning field goal. During the matchup, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss got plenty of attention by completing 30-of-44 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns, leading Ole Miss to the win. He’ll surely be one of the more sought-after quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL draft after this showing.

Plus, the team did it without Kiffin, who wasn’t allowed to coach with Ole Miss after taking the LSU gig. But, even thought Kiffin wasn’t on the sidelines leading Ole Miss to a victory, he’s going to earn some serious cash for the win.

How Much Will Lane Kiffin Earn From Ole Miss’ Win Over Georgia?

So, how much money will Lane Kiffin get from the Ole Miss win over Georgia? According to a report from Front Office Sports, he’ll still get a $500,000 bonus from the Rebels’ quarterfinal victory.

“As part of Kiffin’s exit to LSU, his new employer agreed to cover his full bonus structure from his contract with Ole Miss, according to details in an LSU term sheet Front Office Sports reported last month,” they add in the report.

Kiffin already earned $150,000 for the Rebels getting in the 12-team College Football Playoff bracket. Plus, he bonus went up to $250,000 when the Rebels beat Tulane in the first round of the playoffs. So, now, it’s at $500,000.

Lane Kiffin Can Earn Up to $1 Million in Bonuses From Ole Miss in CFP

The further the Rebels go, the more he’ll bank. According to research from Front Office Sports, he can earn up to $1 million. Specifically, he’ll make $750,000 if Ole Miss makes the national championship and $1 million if the Rebels win the entire thing.

But, don’t feel too sorry for Pete Golding, who is serving as head coach for the rest of the season after Kiffin’s departure. He’ll also get the very same bonuses from the Rebels, for as far as they advance in the CFP.

So, up next, Ole Miss will go up against Miami in the Fiesta Bowl on January 8 in Arizona. That’s when Kiffin can increase his bonus to $750,000 by, well, not doing anything.

“After a lot of prayer and time spent with family, I have made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU,” Kiffin said in a statement after accepting the LSU position and leaving Ole Miss.

“I was hoping to complete a historic six-season run with this year’s team by leading Ole Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team’s incredible success and their commitment to finish strong,” he added, expressing his wishes, “and investing everything into a playoff run with guardrails in place to protect the program in any areas of concern.”
