Leeds fans vow to BOYCOTT buying 2024-25 adidas home shirt due to new colour linked to fierce rivals

LEEDS fans have vowed to BOYCOTT the club’s new home shirt due to one aspect of its design.

The shirt for the 2024/25 season has been made by adidas and features a predominately white body.

The design features a blue trim as well as the Red Bull logo in the middle of the front of the shirt.

It is the logo of the energy drinks company that has angered fans of the Yorkshire club.

The main colours of the logo are red and yellow, and the former has left a bad taste in supporters’ mouths.

Red is not a liked colour by those in Yorkshire due to its ties to Lancashire, and also it is the colour of rivals Manchester United.

Leeds supporters have made their views clear on the shirt on social media with many claiming they will boycott buying it this summer.

One posted: “Nah. Too much red. Won’t be buying.”

A second wrote: “‘It’s only a bit of red, grow up you’re an adult!”

“‘It’s just a shirt/logo” and “Red Bull paid us a lot, so they can do what they want.’

“That’s the point. If WE let brands and businesses change the club more and more, we dilute who we are and our values. Remember where it started and question everything.”

A third commented: “Any chance the logo will start to peel off after a couple of washes?”

LeedsFans also took aim at the goalkeeper shirt[/caption]

A fourth said: “Red Bull Leeds with red on their home kit. Sold their soul for the Yankee dollar. The game has truly gone.”

Another added: “‘Thoroughly Leeds’, haha, who signed that off?”

Meanwhile, the new goalkeeper shirt has also been criticised since it was released.

The shirt has two shades of green and has a funky-shaped design on it.

And some fans have pointed out that it resembles a packet of cheese and onion Squares crisps.

One joked: “I can’t unsee it.”

A second quipped: “It is dreadful looking! Will go down in history as the square crisps keeper top.”

Another chimed in with: “Would love to have seen the salt and vinegar flavour.”
