Arne Slot is a much calmer presence on the touchline than Jurgen Klopp, says Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Dutchman has made a fantastic start to life at Anfield, with the Reds sitting top of the Premier League after seven games, winning six of them.
Slot has also won his opening two Champions League fixtures, so everything is pretty rosy on the field for Liverpool at the moment.
While Liverpool winning games is no surprise, perhaps the ease of the transition from Klopp to Slot is eyebrow-raising, with many expecting any manager to struggle in following the iconic German.
Szoboszlai says the presence of Slot is very different to that of Klopp and that the team reflects his more calm nature, with more control of games.
‘With Jurgen we would win the ball and go directly to the goal and score, which was actually working. But now there is a difference that we have more of the ball, are more calm and build up from behind,’ said the Hungarian.
‘Jurgen was the 12th man. If he could, he would run on to the pitch and do some tackles or whatever. The new manager is more calm. He knows that what we plan will work out somehow if we do it.’

Szoboszlai has been in good form so far this season, so is clearly enjoying life under Slot, although the manager wants to see more from the 23-year-old.
Slot recognises the great work his midfielder has been putting in, but wants more end product as the season develops.
‘He’s been important for us, especially until now in our work when we don’t have the ball. He’s been outstanding in his pressing game,’ said Slot of Szoboszlai last month.

‘I think something that we have to work on with him is that he’s also even more involved in scoring goals and creating chances for us.
‘Last season he scored three [in the league] if I remember correctly and for an attacking midfielder at Liverpool his numbers need to go up.
‘But I’m really happy with the way he’s done until now and I’m 100 percent sure that if he plays in a team with so much quality around him, with the quality he has he will in the end score more goals for us as well.’
