Louis Saha believes Wolves striker Matheus Cunha could be the ‘missing link’ for Manchester United and has urged his former side to sign the Brazilian this summer.
Cunha enjoyed an impressive first full campaign with Wolves on the back of a six-month loan spell last season, racking up 12 goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
Such displays, which including a hat-trick against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, have caught the eye of some of Europe’s elite, with reports suggesting Wolves could be tempted to cash in on the Brazil international should they receive an offer of around £60m in the summer transfer window.
United have been one of the clubs most strongly linked with a move, with the club known to be interested in signing another striker to support Rasmus Hojlund next season.
And former Red Devils striker Saha believes that the 25-year-old would be a terrific addition to Erik ten Hag’s side.
‘Every time I see him play, he’s very creative, very powerful, he can break any line, and that kind of skill he’s got is the missing link that United need,’ Saha said, speaking to Betfred.
‘He’s a player that’s capable of accelerating the game, whether that’s by him passing the ball or dribbling, and he possesses a lot of quality.

‘I would not be surprised and I have no doubts that with some stronger players around him, he can be a terrific player.’
Cunha, however, recently sought to deny rumours linking him with a move to United and insisted he is not looking for a move away from the Midlands club.
‘I’m very happy at Wolves,’ he told Brazilian publication Globo Esporte. ‘My focus is on resting and making the most of my time with my family. I’m very happy at Wolves.
‘The focus now is on having better seasons and helping the club. God willing, I’ll continue on this path.’
Cunha’s current contract at Wolves, which he signed upon arrival last summer, runs through to 2027.
