Malik Nabers Has 1 Word for Giants’ Week 7 Collapse vs. Broncos

The New York Giants choked away a possible upset victory in Week 7, losing to the Denver Broncos in heartbreak fashion, and even injured star wide receiver Malik Nabers couldn’t help but voice his disbelief as the G-Men allowed 33 points in the fourth quarter, blowing leads of 19-0 and 26-8.

After the unfathomable defeat, Nabers summed up how he and most Giants fans were feeling in one word. “Bro,” he said, after first posting a facepalm emoji (“🤦🏽‍♂️”) separately.

One simple word, but somehow, it encapsulates a wide range of emotions.

After the Week 7 loss, fans were angry, stunned, confused, and ashamed, all at once. From the look of it, Nabers shared in most of those emotions, if not all of them.

Wan’Dale Robinson Continues to Shine as Giants’ WR1 With Malik Nabers & Darius Slayton Sidelined With Injury

Wan'Dale Robinson shines again for Giants during Week 7 loss to Broncos.

GettyWan’Dale Robinson led the New York Giants‘ WR corps again versus the Denver Broncos.

The wide receiver position has been an issue for the Giants since Nabers’ injury, but it hasn’t helped that veteran starter Darius Slayton has missed the past two weeks, too.

With Nabers and Slayton out, slot specialist Wan’Dale Robinson has stepped up as the clear No. 1 WR option in this NYG offense. And he’s developed a pretty strong rapport with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

In Week 7, Robinson led all Giants pass-catchers with 6 receptions for 95 yards. He was targeted a whopping 12 times!

What’s concerning is that Robinson was an outlier on October 19. Somehow, the former second-round pick was the only wide receiver to catch a pass against the Broncos.

Aside from Robinson, only tight ends and running backs caught the football from Dart.

Now, that could just be Dart’s quarterback preference, but it also once again displayed the severe lack of talent at the position.

Elevated from the practice squad for the second straight week, veteran Lil’Jordan Humphrey logged zero catches off 2 targets, while Jalin Hyatt and Beaux Collins were each targeted once (zero receptions).

The Giants are reportedly interested in pursuing a big-name wideout via trade. Assuming the Denver loss doesn’t change that, there would be no time like the present ahead of Week 8.

Giants Fans React to Malik Nabers’ Post on Week 7 Loss to Broncos

The Giants fanbase appeared to appreciate Nabers’ post, as it drummed up over 1.6K likes. They also appreciated the impact of their star wide receiver’s prolonged absence.

“Bro we win that game with you. Kill the rehab and we’re back twin,” one fan said.

Another replied: “Finally, you get to see how we feel as fans for the past 15 years literally 15 years man and now I hope you understand why we boo so much we’ve been losing for so long.”

“WE GOT YOU A QB AT LEAST BRO PLEASE DONT LEAVE IM SORRY YOU DONT DESERVE THIS HACK OF A DC AND KICKER BEING IN THE FACILITY WITH YOU,” a third fan pleaded in all caps.

Finally, a fourth more optimistic NYG supporter responded: “This team’s going to be an absolute problem when you’re back.”

Obviously, it’s hard to see the positives when your team blows a lead like the Giants did in Week 7, but that final comment has truth to it. Dart made the mistake on the late interception, but overall, he played well once again.

Nabers has also proven that he is a superstar when healthy. And recent draft picks like Robinson, Cam Skattebo, Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Theo Johnson, and more have been emerging.

Things appear to be looking up for the Giants, but the 2025 season could still feature more growing pains.
