Man City vs Watford preview
Manchester City return to the Etihad following Sunday’s draining 2-2 draw with title rivals Arsenal.
The Cityzens snatched a late point thanks to John Stones’ last-gasp equaliser which leaves them top of the division with 13 points from a possible 15.
Tuesday’s Carabao Cup encounter won’t exactly have the same atmosphere but it’s a good opportunity for Pep Guardiola to rotate ahead of Sunday’s visit to St James’ Park.
It’s also a good chance for City to end a run of two matches without victory after successive draws with Inter Milan and the Gunners.
City won this competition four times on the bounce between 2018 and 2021, but they’ve failed to win the last three.
They should advance to the next round with a minimum of fuss up against Tom Cleverley’s Watford, who were beaten heavily 4-1 away to Norwich on Saturday.
City also have very fond memories of this fixture having won the last five games 5-1, 3-1, 4-0, 8-0 and 6-0.

Goals
Pep Guardiola will make changes for this one, but that’s likely to see England’s attacking duo Phil Foden and Jack Grealish in the starting XI.
The pair are more than capable of unlocking a Championship defence, especially one that leaked four goals to Norwich on Saturday – which accounts 50% of the Canaries’ league goals this season.
