Manchester United fans are convinced David Beckham ‘fired shots’ at two players after the thrilling derby victory over Manchester City.
United earned bragging rights over local rivals City with a dramatic comeback victory at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
In a largely drab Premier League contest, Josko Gvardiol’s first-half header looked to be giving struggling Manchester City a much-needed victory over their arch-rivals.
The defending champions led 1-0 with just minutes remaining before Amad Diallo created a goal and scored another to leave Pep Guardiola’s side stunned.
United had created little before Diallo was bundled over by Matheus Nunes in the 88th minute and captain Bruno Fernandes slotted home the subsequent penalty to score what looked like a late equaliser.
But an even latter winner came courtesy of Diallo, who latched onto Lisandro Martinez’s hopeful long ball before rounding Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and slotting home.
It was a huge win for Manchester United and Amorim, who was heading for a third successive Premier League defeat before his side turned things around.

Following United’s comeback win, club legend Beckham posted on Instagram: ‘And the rebuild begins. Big win. Big team win with players who wanna wear the jersey.’
Manchester United fans were convinced Beckham’s post was a subtle dig at Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, who were dropped from the squad for Sunday’s game over a drop-off in standards.
Asked about Rashford and Garnacho’s absence before kick-off, Amorim said: ‘For me it’s important; the performance in training, the performance in games, the way you dress, the way you eat, the way you engage with your team-mates, the way you push your team-mates.’

Responding to Beckham’s post, one United fan wrote: ‘Hopefully Rashford and Garnacho get the message.’
One said ‘we all know who Beckham is jabbing’ while another tagged both Rashford and Garnacho with the question ‘message received?’
According to other fans, Beckham was intent on ‘firing shots’ at the absent Manchester United stars and ‘understands very well’ that they ‘do not deserve to wear the shirt’.
Rashford and Garnacho were reportedly told to train at Carrington on Sunday morning as their team-mates prepared for the Manchester derby.
‘Of course Ruben Amorim is sending a message to them,’ ex-Premier League striker Clinton Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live. ‘You have to train how you play, so I think his decision [to leave him out] was spot on.
‘If you are not training well enough and you have downed tools, then it is disrespectful. You always train like it is your last training session.’
Rashford’s omission comes amid widespread reports Manchester United are open to selling the academy graduate ahead of the January transfer window.
The big games keep on coming for Manchester United who face Tottenham on Thursday night for a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
