Manchester United’s efforts to offload Antony have been given a major boost with his preferred destination Real Betis set to receive a huge cash injection.

Antony joined Betis on loan during the January transfer window, helping fire the club to the Europa Conference League final and scoring nine goals in 25 appearances.

The Brazil international is desperate to stay in Spain, repeatedly making it clear he sees his future at Betis.

The winger has already turned down an offer to sign for Italian side Como and is holding out for a return to the Villamarin Stadium.

Antony is not part of Antony’s plans with United ready to sell him this summer.

Betis have not spent over £20m on a player in six years but could now find the cash to meet United’s demands with midfielder Johnny Cardoso on the brink of joining Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone has been eager for Atletico to bring in the USA international who has shone in Sevilla since his arrival in January 2024.

Betis had been looking to bank €40m (£34m) in the deal but AS report a deal for €30m (£25.5m) has now been agreed.

Betis could raise further funds through the sale of Jesús Rodríguez, who is wanted by Aston Villa.

The 19-year-old is valued at €35m (£29.8m) by his club with Unai Emery keen to bring him to the Premier League.

Antony meanwhile is prepared to take a 30 per cent wage cut to help seal a move away from Old Trafford. The former Ajax star is currently on £150,000-a-week.

He is one of four wingers United are desperately trying to offload before the new season starts.

Jadon Sancho meanwhile is wanted by Juventus and Napoli but with United also determined to secure a transfer fee, a move to Fenerbahce for £15m is reportedly on the table.

Alejandro Garnacho is United’s most valuable asset in that quartet with the Argentine’s preference to remain in the Premier League.
