Manchester United continue to track Olympiacos teenager Christos Mouzakitis, but they are not alone in keeping an eye on the wonderkid.

The 18-year-old burst into the first team last season and made a big impression as he racked up 36 appearances in all competitions.

He has continued to his upward trajectory this campaign, with 13 outings so far, including his first Champions League experience.

The midfielder seems likely to be a fixture in the Greece team for many years to come, already winning seven caps for his national side.

The poise and maturity of the central midfielder has caught the eye of many teams around Europe, with a big move looking likely in 2026.

The Sun report that Manchester United and Brighton are considering making a move for Mouzakitis in the January transfer window.

A string of other clubs also have the teenager on their radar, though, including Arsenal, Aston Villa, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

Olympiacos have reportedly set an asking price of £40m, but that is only likely to increase as Mouzakitis continues to impress and with so many parties interested in him.

The youngster’s contract with the Greek side runs until 2029, so they are under no pressure to sell him any time soon on that front.

Olympiacos sporting director Darko Kovacevic said of the exciting prospect in March: ‘There is growing interest in him, but he is an Olympiacos player. He will stay at Olympiacos for sure this season, and I hope for longer.’

Mouzakitis won both the Greek Super League and Greek Cup with Olympiacos last season, while being named in the division’s Team of the Season and being crowned Young Player of the Season.

Manager Jose Luis Mendilibar praised the work rate of Mouzakitis after a crucial goal in a win over Levadiakos in February.

‘He works hard, just like all the players do,’ said the Olympiacos boss. ‘Anyone in the squad has to put in the effort. But beyond effort, he has got the talent and quality that help him even more.

‘We are happy every time he is in the starting lineup and contributes, just like we are happy when Kostoulas scores.’

The Greek talent won the Golden Boy Wed award this month, a public vote to crown the best Under-21 player in Europe, run by Italian publication Tuttosport.

Previous winners include Kenan Yildiz, Jude Bellingham and Nicola Zalewski.
