Manchester United have turned down the chance to sign Chelsea starlet Tyrique George as part of negotiations for Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho has been told he has no future at Old Trafford with the Argentina international frozen out of the first-team squad.

The winger is determined to stay in the Premier League having rejected interest from Bayern Munich with Chelsea his preferred destination.

Garnacho has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Blues but the clubs remain some way apart in agreeing a fee.

United want around £50million, using the fee Arsenal paid Chelsea for Noni Madueke as a benchmark in any talks. Chelsea however value him closer to £30m.

Chelsea are still trying to raise further funds by offloading Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson – two players who were offered to United in exchange for Garnacho earlier in the summer.

The Blues have recently offered another player to United in 19-year-old forward George, only for United to turn down the offer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He said speaking on his YouTube channel: ‘I can 100% tell you that Chelsea expect the Alejandro Garnacho deal to happen.

‘The player expects that this deal will happen as he has turned down many opportunities.

‘There were some talks to include Tyrique George in the deal… but I was told this option stopped a few weeks ago.

‘He’s now being considered by Roma.’

Chelsea have strengthened significantly in attacking positions this summer but still hope to sign Garnacho and Xavi Simons before the window closes.

The United winger has not been involved in United’s opening two matches of the Premier League season or any of their pre-season fixtures, training in exile while he awaits his move.

‘I know that it’s not a good thing to have players in this situation, but it’s clear they want to play in a different club,’ Amorim said on Friday.

‘So, we try to arrange everything for both parts to be happy, I have to try to have the training with the guys that I think are going to be the future.

‘Then the other guys are training and preparing for the next chapter.

‘When the window is closed, it’s a different history. When the window is closed, we have to receive the players and then a new life. Anything can happen.’
