Noussair Mazraoui could be available for Manchester United’s Premier League showdown with Liverpool after recovering from a ‘mystery injury’.

The Morocco international was spotted back in training with his countrymen during the international break despite not featuring in either game against Bahrain and Congo.

The former Bayern Munich star initially picked an injury during United’s opening pre-season match against Leeds United.

Maintaining fitness has been an issue ever since with the right-back missing the opening games of the Premier League season against Arsenal and Fulham, coming off the bench against Burnley before starting games on the right against Manchester City and Chelsea.

He missed United’s last two games and was ruled out until after the October international break.

Ruben Amorim is a huge admirer, describing him as ‘smart and crucial’ following his arrival in Manchester, even declaring him ‘the future’ of the club.

‘He’s an incredible player, he’s our future,’ Amorim said after a 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League last year.

‘He’s played in different positions, he looks always fresh but we have to be careful.

‘There’s a lot of games but he’s here to stay. This kind of player is what we need.’

Mazraoui was a key player for Amorim last term, starting 38 of the head coach’s 42 matches in charge last term.

Victory over Sunderland on Saturday moved United into 10th place before the international break.

Liverpool meanwhile suffered their defeat on the bounce away to Chelsea that evening, slipping to second in the table with Arsenal moving top.
