It’s reported that talks between the clubs are at an early stage and finances are yet to be discussed.

While talks between Marseille and Greenwood himself are said to have been positive.

The 22-year-old would join up with Roberto De Zerbi if he was to make the switch to the Ligue 1 outfit, with the former Brighton boss set to be named as the new Marseille manager.

There are plenty of other options for Greenwood after he impressed on loan with Getafe last season.

The Bradford-born bagsman netted eight times and registered six assists in 33 La Liga appearances.

And his efforts earned him the title of Getafe’s Player of the Season.

Italian trio Lazio, Juventus and Napoli have all been linked with a move for Greenwood this summer.

While clubs all across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund, have also been rumoured to be keen on the one-time England international.

Despite a long list of potential suitors, The Athletic claim that Greenwood favours a move to Marseille over his other options at this stage.
