And both supporters and Gareth Southgate will be demanding a response following the disappointing 1-1 draw against Denmark.

But a victory over Slovenia would guarantee first place in the group – although a win for them would see them leapfrog our boys.

No matter what, with four points already on the board, England’s place in the knockouts is virtually assured.

Which is bad news for members of the Weimarer Land Spa and Golf Resort that the team have been staying in, according to the Daily Mail.

Southgate and his squad have received a warm welcome from their German hosts ever since their arrival.

However, this update states: “One group of locals are cheering on their opponents.”

England have forked out around £800,000 for the exclusive use of the complex.

And members of the golf club are still able to play on one of the 18-hole courses there.

But the two holes nearest to the training pitch are not in use.

And that is not all.

Both the club shop and bar are “also out of bounds” to members, although a stable has been converted into a temporary bar and shop.

Even still, this report claims that one insider joked: “The members are desperate for England to get knocked out so they can get their two holes and bar back.”

Meanwhile, Slovenia boss Matjaz Kek insists that all the pressure is on England heading into this game.

He said: “England is the favourite, clearly. But the Danes and Serbs were also favourites against us.

“Another game lies ahead of us. We must focus all our thoughts on England.”
