Miami Dolphins Coach Arrested on Battery Charges

The Miami Dolphins have enough problems on their hands. Between general dysfunction and injury issues, they don’t need any more gasoline poured on the team fire.

On Friday, word came out that outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow was arrested and charged by Fort Lauderdale Police on accusations of battery, according to jail records.

Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 has more details.

“JUST IN: Miami Dolphins OLB coach Ryan Crow is accused of shoving a family member and looking like “he was about to perform a takedown,” Slater posted on X. “Witnesses told police that the victim’s feet were off the ground and Crow had his arm’s around the person. The victim refused to give cops a sworn statement.”

There aren’t a lot of details at the moment, but Slater says the incident started over someone’s previous relationships.

“The incident started over a conversation about past relationships, police say,” Slater wrote. “The alleged victim is female.”

Miami Dolphins release a statement on Ryan Crow

In the wake of the incident, the Dolphins’ communications department had to be active yet again. The team released a statement this morning, saying that the 37-year old Crow has been placed on administrative leave.

“We are aware of the serious matter involving Ryan Crow and currently gathering more information. Ryan has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately,” the statement said. “We have been in communication with the NFL and will reserve further comment at this time.”

Jail records show Crow was arrested on one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. As of Friday morning, he remained in the Broward Main Jail with no bond yet set.

Ryan Crow adding to distractions the Dolphins don’t need

Crow joined the Miami Dolphins as a coach prior to the 2024 NFL season. He began his coaching career in 2018 as a defensive assistant with the Tennessee Titans and spent six seasons there, where he became a special teams assistant and then outside linebackers coach.

The Dolphins are set to begin the 2025 season on September 7th at 1 p.m. against the Indianapolis Colts. One wouldn’t think that this incident will have a huge impact on the game, but the Dolphins really don’t need any more distractions.
