Miami QB Carson Beck’s Message on Georgia Says It All Amid College Football Playoff

Miami quarterback Carson Beck declined to mention Georgia by name after the Hurricanes advanced in the College Football Playoff to the Fiesta Bowl. Yet, Beck’s facial expression said it all when asked about Miami’s next opponent, indicating that the quarterback would not mind a potential rematch against his former team.

During a postgame interview with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, Beck admitted to looking ahead at the possible matchup in the bracket.

“When you look at the College Football Playoff bracket (when it) came out, I mean, it’s hard not to look forward to the games,” Beck admitted during the December 31, 2025, interview. “You look at the bracket. You look at the way that things could pan out.

“And now obviously, you know, having beat Texas A&M and now having beat Ohio State and earning the right to go play out in Arizona in the semifinals. It’s hard not to look forward to that and see the two teams that we could end up playing,” Beck continued.

“So, I’m super excited for this team and the opportunity to play in the semifinals and whichever team is able to win that game, we’ll go in and prepare and we’ll make the most of it.”

Beck may not have mentioned Georgia by name, but the Miami star’s face lit up when asked about the potential matchup. Van Pelt noted Beck’s reaction despite not openly discussing Georgia.

“Okay, all right, but it’s fair to say the smile on your face is the answer to the question,” Van Pelt reacted to Beck’s answer. “I think we can all connect the dots on that.”

Carson Beck Reversed Course by Transferring From Georgia to Miami Instead of Entering the NFL Draft

Back in January 2025, Beck surprised the college football world by transferring from Georgia to Miami instead of entering the NFL draft. Beck has the complete confidence of Miami head coach Mario Cristobal.

“You know, whoever doubts him, that’s fine,” Cristobal said of Beck, per FanSided. “He’s going to continue to prove himself as a great teammate, a great competitor and a true Miami Hurricane.”

Time will tell if fans will be treated to a matchup featuring Beck taking on his former Georgia teammates.
