Miami vs. Georgia/Ole Miss Odds: Spread, Total & CFP Picks for Fiesta Bowl

Miami is headed to the Fiesta Bowl and awaits the winner of the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Ole Miss. The Hurricanes’ next College Football Playoff clash will take place on January 8, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. Miami is just one win away from playing for a national championship.

Heavy Sports will have the official opening college football odds as soon as they are released when the contest is set, but sportsbooks already released look-ahead point spreads for both of Miami’s potential matchups ahead of the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

Georgia is a heavy favorite against Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl clash. If Miami faces Georgia, the Dawgs would be a 3.5-point favorite against the Hurricanes based on the early odds projections, per DraftKings. The over-under is estimated to be 43.5 points for this potential Fiesta Bowl matchup.

If Ole Miss pulls the upset over Georgia, Miami is projected to be a 1.5-point favorite over the Rebels, per DraftKings. The over-under would be 51.5 points.

It is important to note that these odds were set on December 31, prior to the start of the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. Miami’s impressive performance against Ohio State may push the odds a little more in favor of the Canes.

Here’s what you need to know about Miami’s upcoming Fiesta Bowl matchup.

Miami QB Carson Beck Could Face Former Georgia Team in the Fiesta Bowl

If Georgia is able to take care of business against Ole Miss, Miami quarterback Carson Beck would face his former team. Back in January 2025, Beck pulled a surprise by transferring to Miami instead of entering the NFL draft as expected.

“Everything has a shelf life, and I think the shelf life there (at Georgia) was over, and it was just time to start something new, to get into a new program, to start a new chapter of my life, my career,” Beck said in July when discussing his decision to transfer from Georgia to Miami, per Yahoo Sports. “I think the biggest thing for me, obviously, was the offensive fit.

“As a quarterback, the (offensive coordinator), the scheme, the talent and guys that you’re going to have around you is huge to the success and ultimately, the future… of a quarterback, but (also for) me (personally). This is my future and I think this decision is one of the better decisions I’ve made.”

Miami Is an Impressive 9-5 Against the Spread in the College Football Odds This Season

Miami has rewarded bettors this season with a 9-5 record against the spread, per TeamRankings.com. The Canes games have trended towards the under. Miami has hit the under in nine games while the over has hit in five contests.

Georgia has not been quite as kind to bettors. Heading into the Sugar Bowl, Georgia is 6-7 against the spread this season.

Like Miami, the Dawgs have trended towards the under on the point total as well. Eight of Georgia’s game have gone under, while five matchups hit the over.

Ole Miss has also been rewarding fans in Vegas going 8-5 against the spread this season. The Rebels are a 6.5-point underdog versus the Dawgs in the Sugar Bowl odds, per DraftKings.

Fiesta Bowl Prediction: Miami Should Be Rooting for Ole Miss

Much will be made about Beck potentially facing his former team in the Fiesta Bowl. Yet, Miami’s best chance to advance to the national title matchup is to face Ole Miss.

If Georgia advances to the Fiesta Bowl, we like the Dawgs to top the Canes for our early prediction. An Ole Miss win would have us picking Miami to make the national championship.

Kirby Smart on Current Georgia Team: ‘They’ve Had a Lot of Energy’

Time will tell who Miami will face, but the Canes are as hot as any college football team in the country. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart sounded confident ahead of the SEC rematch.

“They’ve had a lot of energy,” Smart said his Georgia squad, per Dawg Nation. “We’re a little younger, and they want to be coached. They want to be coached hard. They like practicing hard. They get out there and do exactly what you demand of them each and every day.

“They’ve seen some of the rewards from that, some of the physical toughness, some of the stop the run, run the ball. I mean, like they see the rewards from it, and they bought into that being an identity.”
