Micah Parsons Calls Out Jerry Jones’ Manhood After Packers Tie

Suffice it to say that there is no love lost between Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after the big trade.

Parsons played his former Cowboys team on Sunday night for the first time since Jones elected to trade him away to the Packers in exchange for two first-round selections and veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark about two weeks before the 2025 regular season.

After the game, reporters peppered Parsons with questions about how he had handled preparing to face his former teammates and whether he had any difficulties navigating his emotions in his return to AT&T Stadium, his first home arena in his NFL career.

Parsons, however, said the emotions he felt playing for the Cowboys “went away the moment they traded me,” a result of the bitterness that formed between the two sides.

He also made mention of Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst making an effort to call Clark to inform him about the trade before news of it broke, using that example to call out Jones — who never once called Parsons after the trade — and his manhood.

“I didn’t even get to talk to my owner, the person who drafted me,” Parsons said Sunday about Jones. “I found out through my agent. So, to me, that emotion side was pointless because the same way he called me in his office as a man, he couldn’t tell me as a man. So, to me, that emotion side was gone. It was more about a respect factor at this point.”

Jerry Jones Has Said Plenty About Parsons Since Trade

Parsons’ dismissive comments might not sit well with Jones, but it is not as though the Cowboys owner has kept his mouth shut about his ex-superstar since the big trade.

Jones has regularly thrown shade at Parsons over the past month, including this past week when he tried (again) to defend the decision to trade the All-Pro game wrecker.

“Now let’s make no mistake about it: Micah is special, and we all know he is, and he can be disruptive,” Jones said in a radio interview with 105.3 The Fan. “But we have huge amounts of experience with the anecdotes that we’ve seen used on us for the last four years. And while he does make great plays, there is also a way to approach playing against Micah. As we know, we didn’t exactly win the Super Bowl those years.

“The bottom line is, when I look at playing him, I think of trying to have him as an advantage when we were playing other teams over the last four years. Some plays, it looks beautiful. But then other plays, especially running plays, you can wish you’d had a different formation.”

Micah Parsons Productive for Packers in Return to Dallas

Parsons did not have the world-beating performance that many anticipated he might have in his first matchup with the Cowboys, but he still played a good game Sunday.

Parsons generated eight pressures and tallied three total tackles, one sack and three quarterback hits against the Cowboys. He secured the Packers’ lone sack of the game in a clutch moment, swiping quarterback Dak Prescott’s ankles as he tried to run for the end zone on 2nd-and-goal in overtime and helping his team hold them to a field goal.

According to Pro Football Focus, Parsons also had a 34.5% pass-rush win rate.

The Cowboys did not exactly struggle to move the ball against the Packers, though. They scored 40 points and put up 435 total yards of offense, including 117 rushing yards. The Packers also failed to produce a single turnover and only tallied one tackle for a loss.

Perhaps things will be more definitive the next time Parsons meets the Cowboys.
