Micah Parsons Raises Eyebrows With Strong Defense of Bears’ Pro Bowl Snub

Micah Parsons may not like the Chicago Bears, but the injured Green Bay Packers edge-rusher keeps it real with regards to the significant goings on around the NFL.

Dealing with a season-ending ACL tear that he suffered in Week 15 against the Denver Broncos, Parsons took the time to chime in on the league’s Pro Bowl announcements on Tuesday, December 23. However, the only thing he wrote on social media was a gripe involving the snub of Bears cornerback Nahshon Wright.

“Nashone Wright getting snubbed for first team Pro Bowl selection is crazy!!” Parsons posted to X.

Parsons using his X platform, which reaches more than 600,000 followers, to promote Wright’s play this season is a high form of respect — even if Parsons’ presumably unintentional misspelling of Wright’s first name by two letters might indicate the opposite.

Nashon Wright Blew Up in First Year as NFL Starter

Wright has tallied 67 tackles, including three tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, five interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and defensive touchdown in 2025. The 27-year-old cornerback became a regular starter for the first time this season, his fifth in the NFL.

Wright spent his first three years in the league with the Dallas Cowboys as a reserve before playing the same role for the Minnesota Vikings in 2024. In fact, Wright played more on special teams than he did on defense in three of his first four professional campaigns, save for 2022 with the Cowboys when Wright saw 128 defensive snaps compared to 121 plays on special teams.

Last year in Minnesota, Wright did not play a single snap on defense and was on the field for just 15 special teams snaps all season long.

Wright faced adversity even during his breakout campaign in 2025, as his collegiate coach John Beam was murdered in November.

“He was watching over me,” Wright said November 16, per Courtney Cronin of ESPN. “It’s crazy. He called me the night before he passed and he told me that every game he watched, I just seemed to get a pick. So I just know he was behind me today.”

The Bears beat the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 19-17 that day. Wright tallied a tackle, a pass breakup and an interception in the contest.

While Wright did not make the Pro Bowl, three of his teammates did find their way into the game.

Free safety Kevin Byard III, offensive guard Joe Thuney and center Drew Dalman all got nods. It was Dalman’s first selection, Byard’s third and Thuney’s fourth time in the Pro Bowl. Chicago traded for Thuney this offseason and signed Dalman in free agency.

“Thuney is a regular fixture of the Pro Bowl with his fourth straight selection in his second straight season without allowing a sack,” Cronin wrote Tuesday. “Dalman has been pivotal to the development of quarterback Caleb Williams in his second season and was the No. 1 vote getter at center in the NFC. Byard is having a career resurgence in Chicago with a league-high six interceptions on the Bears defense, which has a league-best 31 takeaways.”
