The Cincinnati Bengals are firmly planted between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, their franchise quarterback went down with a potentially season ending injury two weeks ago and their running back has been hit in the backfield more times than he has made it to the second level of the defense. On the other, a win tonight over the Denver Broncos would put the Bengals two games up from the Baltimore Ravens and get them out of September with one of the best records in the National Football League.
The Bengals are 7.5 point underdogs tonight, as they compete in the second of two Monday Night Football kickoffs.
Here are some Bengals lines to look out for Monday night.
See our Dolphins plays here.
Ja’Marr Chase o5.5 Receptions (-134 FD)
This feels like a generous number for the reigning Triple Crown Winner, Ja’Marr Chase. I understand the Jake Browning handicap here, the duos career stats in games played together certainly trends towards the under.
But in big time games, coaches will always make an emphasis to scheme open their big time players. The Bengals’ path to victory goes through Ja’Marr Chase and I expect that to be reflected through his targets.
With the best corner in the game, Patrick Surtain, set to shadow him, I can see more ways the reception line gets home over the yards.
With six being the magic number, and Ja’Marr Chase being the best player on the field, I figure three of these come on designed screens and quick passes meant to get the super star into the action. That leaves just a few reps that one of the best in the game has to come down with a catch.
I’m taking Ja’Marr Chase over 5.5 receptions as my best bet of the night.
Chase Brown o2.5 Receptions (-168 FD)
The Bengals run game has been the worst in the NFL, there’s no other way to put it. And with a dynamic playmaker like Chase Brown in the backfield, Zac Taylor is going to have to be creative with the ways they get him the ball.
Only two other running backs on the roster have logged a carry, and both came in last week’s blow out loss. Brown breezed by this line in Jake Browning’s start last week and I expect him to do so once again against a stout Denver pass rush.
Same Game Parlay +525 Odds
As I mentioned before, my handicap for this one with a long week to prepare is that the Bengals rushing attack has been horrible. They threw the rock 45 times against the Jaguars, and nearly 30 times in a blowout loss last week.
My parlay tonight involved the previous two plays, combined with two alt lines.
Same Game Parlay
- Ja’Marr Chase over 5.5 receptions
- Chase Brown over 2.5 receptions
- Jake Browning over 8.5 rushing yards (-112 FD)
- Tee Higgins 30+ receiving yards (-310 FD)
The last time Jake Browning had significant starting time in the NFL was in 2023. He played two prime time games that season. In those games, Browning ran for 40 and 22 yards.
He took off at least once in both of his games this season, although he has not hit this number yet (in his roughly four quarters of action), I love taking quarterbacks rushing props in big moment games. Especially ones with a history of prime time scampers.
If you’re interested in spicing it up, Jake Browning has also thrown five picks in two games. Do with that what you may.
