NFL Insider Issues Crushing Lamar Jackson Week 6 Injury Update

Things are not looking good for the Baltimore Ravens heading into Week 6. They are 1-4 through their first five games, thanks in large part to a slew of injuries they are dealing with. None of those injuries is more significant than the hamstring injury superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with, and he has received a discouraging update ahead of the Ravens’ upcoming game.

Jackson was forced out of Baltimore’s Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs early with his aforementioned injury, and he ended up missing the team’s Week 5 contest against the Houston Texans, which resulted in a blowout 44-10 loss. The Ravens desperately need a win on Sunday, but that will be a tall task if Jackson cannot suit up, and that seems to be the way things are trending currently.

Lamar Jackson’s Week 6 Status for Ravens “In Doubt”

There’s no doubt that the Ravens have faced a very difficult schedule to open the 2025 campaign, but nobody could have predicted they would find themselves in the position they are currently in. Losses to the Texans, Chiefs, Detroit Lions, and Buffalo Bills have put Baltimore on the brink of an early-season collapse, even though they entered the year with Super Bowl expectations.

Jackson’s injury only complicates matters. With him healthy, the Ravens have a shot to win every time they take the field. Without him, though, they are at risk of getting massacred like they did in Week 5 at the hands of the Texans. And unfortunately, things aren’t getting any easier for this team, as they have a Week 6 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams on their hands.

Considering the caliber of their opponent, that makes Jackson’s status all the more important. He didn’t practice on Wednesday, though, and according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, that’s usually not a good sign. With this development, Rapoport believes that it’s unlikely Jackson will take the field on Sunday against the Rams.

“Not looking good for Lamar Jackson,” Rapoport said on “Good Morning Football.” “The Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback this week did not practice yesterday with a hamstring injury … I think it’s safe to say Lamar Jackson’s status for this week against the Rams in a huge game is very much in doubt.”

Can the Ravens Beat the Rams Without Lamar Jackson?

Considering all the other injuries the Ravens are dealing with, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, being without Jackson could be the knockout blow for this team, and they haven’t even taken the field yet. Cooper Rush would be tasked with filling in for Jackson if he can’t play, but he didn’t exactly inspire much confidence with his play against the Texans.

Los Angeles is 3-2, and it is fresh off a surprising Thursday Night Football loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. They will be motivated to get back in the win column, and they have had a couple of extra days to prepare for this game. Things are looking bleak for the Ravens ahead of this one, and if Jackson ends up being inactive again, it could result in another ugly loss for Baltimore when all is said and done.
