NFL Launches Investigation Into Jaxson Dart Concussion Protocol Controversy

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the NFL has initiated an investigation into the application of the concussion protocol for New York Giants’ rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart during Thursday night’s game. The investigation will be conducted alongside the NFLPA, as is required via the collective bargaining agreement.

In Thursday night’s 34-17 upset for the Giants over the Philadelphia Eagles, Dart was injured on a play late in the third quarter after he was sacked. Dart remained on the ground for a couple of minutes before being taken to the medical tent on the sideline.

Dart missed just a couple of plays as he was replaced by Russell Wilson. The Eagles forced a New York punt right after the injury, before Dart came back in for the next offensive snaps early in the fourth quarter after Cor’Dale Flott intercepted Jalen Hurts giving the Giants a quick goal-to-go drive.

While Dart was in the medical tent, both head coach Brian Daboll and running back Cam Skattebo ran over and peeked inside, both eager to get Dart back into the game.

Daboll was also seen yelling at the team physician on the sideline right after Dart exited the game.

The play looked rather benign at first, as Dart was swallowed up behind the line of scrimmage by two hard but clean tackles from Philly pass rushers.

Dart did have make a crazy play earlier in the game where he initiated contact on a QB run by leaping headfirst into a defender.

Someone should probably tell him that just because Skattebo does it does NOT mean he should do it.

Daboll Apologizes For Actions Surrounding Injury

Brian Daboll apologized for his actions after Dart was injured, both his outburst towards the team physician and for running and peeking into the tent.

“I apologized directly to our team physician,” Daboll said. “I just wanted his a** out there if he was okay… I’m like ‘is he gonna be good or not I’m gonna call a timeout on 4th down and go for this son of a b****.’”

“If you’ve ever been on an NFL sideline, there’s a lot of emotions… I certainly am an emotional guy,” Daboll continued.

Giants Pull Out Season Defining Win Over Eagles

Every aspect of the New York Giants game on Thursday night was at it’s best as they ousted the reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles in a lopsided 34-17 final.

The lovable duo of Dart and Skattebo drove the offense, as Dart finished the night with a passing and rushing touchdown while throwing for 195 yards and rushing for 58. Skattebo rushed for 98 yards while finding the end zone three times.

In the absence of Malik Nabers, Dart relied heavily on Wan’Dale Robinson and Lil’Jordan Humphrey in the pass game. They had a combined 10 receptions for 139 yards while Robinson caught Dart’s only touchdown pass of the night.

Brian Burns continued to be a force in the pass rush game as he was able to sack Jalen Hurts twice.

As for the Eagles, they’ve now lost two straight games as frustrations continue to mount among many of their star players who don’t feel as though they’re getting the ball enough. Their loss to the Broncos came after a fourth quarter collapse, and although the Giants have newfound momentum, they are still a team Philadelphia expects to beat.
