The NFL has officially determined when the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will face off during Wild Card Weekend of the 2025 NFL playoffs.
Following the Bears’ 19-16 loss to the Detroit Lions in their regular-season finale, the NFL announced kickoff times and dates for every game in the wild-card round, setting the Bears and Packers’ rivalry showdown for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 10.
The league also announced that it will air the Bears-Packers game on Prime Video.
The Bears will host the Packers at Soldier Field in the matchup after clinching the No. 2 seed in the NFC during Week 18’s final regular-season games. While they did not finish the job themselves, needing a win from Washington to clinch, they will now possess home-field advantage through at least the first two playoff rounds, if they advance.
Bears Split 2025 Regular Season Series With Packers
While Chicago won the NFC North division, the Bears (11-6) and the Packers (9-6-1) split their regular-season series with each other in 2025, thanks to a few nailbiters.
The Packers took the first game, holding off a fourth-quarter comeback push from the Bears to win, 28-21, on a last-second interception in the end zone. Chicago rallied from a 16-6 deficit in the final five minutes of the second game, however, forcing the game into overtime before walking off with a 22-16 victory on a touchdown to DJ Moore.
Both teams are also entering the playoffs on losing skids. The Bears lost both of their final games after defeating the Packers in Week 16, while the Packers have lost four straight since winning the first game against the Bears at Lambeau Field in Week 14.
In terms of playoff history, the Packers won the last head-to-head postseason matchup against the Bears, defeating Lovie Smith’s division-winning team, 21-14, in the NFC Championship Game during the 2010 playoffs. Interestingly enough, the Bears were also the 2-seed in that postseason, while the Packers squeaked in as the 6-seed.
Unfortunately, Bears fans also remember how that season ended: with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after winning the Super Bowl.
Packers Bears Odds Open Narrow in Multiple Books
A little fuss was made last week when FanDuel Sportsbook released early odds for potential wild-card matchups and listed the Bears as underdogs in all three scenarios: against the Los Angeles Rams (+4.5), San Francisco 49ers (+1.5) or Packers (+1.5).
The popular sportsbooks were more divided on January 4, though, when they officially released their opening odds following the NFL’s nighttime scheduling announcement.
While FanDuel Sportsbook stuck to its guns and had the Bears as 1.5-point underdogs, BetMGM and BetRivers both listed them as 1-point favorites against the Packers. The Bears also received initial 1.5-point underdog odds from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Sportsbettors may find themselves watching the line throughout the week to see if any news shifts the odds one way or another. The Bears could potentially receive a bump if they finish the week with starting wide receiver Rome Odunze or slot cornerback Kyler Gordon on track to return from their injuries and play against the Packers.
The Packers do not appear to have any major injury hurdles to clear that could shift their odds. Quarterback Jordan Love cleared concussion protocol in Week 18 and was active against the Minnesota Vikings as the emergency backup behind Clayton Tune, who got the start with Green Bay locked in as the 7-seed and resting its starters.
