Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia saw his net worth take a bit of a dive over the weekend, as the NFL hit him with a significant fine for on-field actions against the Denver Broncos in Week 17.
The Office of Gameday Accountability deemed Suamataia guilty of unnecessary roughness for “striking, kicking, tripping or kneeing” a member of the Broncos during the second quarter. The league fined the left guard in the amount of $8,108.
A second-round pick out of Brigham Young in the 2024 draft (No. 63 overall), Suamataia has been among the best offensive linemen on the Chiefs’ roster during his second season. Pro Football Focus ranks Sumataia as the 33rd-best guard out of 80 players who have seen enough snaps at the position to qualify heading into Week 18.
Chiefs’ Offensive Line Struggled Through Injuries, Poor Play This Season

Kansas City’s season is long over as the team heads to the desert to play out the string against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 18.
Injuries have played a significant role in the worst season for the franchise in more than a decade, which has come directly on the heels of seven consecutive AFC championship game appearances and three straight trips to the Super Bowl.
The offensive line has not been immune to those injury problems, as tackles Josh Simmons and Jawaan Taylor are on the injured reserve list (IR) to end the season, while Trey Smith is out for Week 18, which will be his fifth missed contest of the season.
As a result, Kansas City’s offensive line enters the last game of the campaign as the No. 24-ranked unit in the league, per PFF — and that is after a quality showing against a stout Denver defense.
“The Chiefs’ offensive front turned in a clean outing in Week 17, albeit in a loss to the Broncos. The group was tested on 24 pass plays and yielded four pressures, with no sacks and one quarterback hit,” Zoltán Buday wrote on December 31. “The team’s guard tandem was excellent in pass protection in Week 17. Kingsley Suamataia and Trey Smith combined to allow no pressure against the Broncos.”
Suamataia played in 15 games during his rookie campaign, starting just two of those before elevating into a full-time starting role in 2025. He will start his 17th contest of the year on Sunday in Las Vegas.
Travis Kelce May Play Final Game for Chiefs Against Raiders in Week 18

Kansas City (6-10) currently owns the No. 9 pick in the upcoming draft, but is favored by 5.5 points against the Raiders as of Saturday afternoon.
A victory in Las Vegas will likely drop the Chiefs out of the top 10, where many draft analysts predict they will select Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, a Heisman Trophy finalist.
That said, Kansas City is likely to approach the game with serious intention, as it could be the final contest of tight end Travis Kelce’s Hall of Fame career.
Kelce has not committed to retiring or returning for his age-37 campaign in 2026, though he is not under contract with the team beyond this year.
