After suffering three straight losses and fans starting to heavily criticize star quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to get a much-needed win in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders in front of their fans at Lincoln Financial Field.
Things were starting to get a little tense due to the consecutive losses to the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers. Hurts was taking a lot of the blame, with calls for him to be benched in the final stretch of the regular season.
Although the Raiders are far from a formidable opponent, Hurts got the job done against Las Vegas, leading the defending Super Bowl champions to a 31-point blowout, finishing with 214 total yards and three passing touchdowns.
Nick Sirianni Praises Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

After the blowout win over the Raiders on Sunday, Sirianni praised Hurts earlier this week for his resiliency, as he continues to support his star quarterback amid seemingly endless criticism from week to week.
“He’s resilient,” Sirianni said of Hurts. “Always has been resilient and thought he was really good running the offense, being in command out there, just making good decisions with the football, good runs. He had a good game.”
There’s a good chance the criticism of Hurts won’t be going away any time soon, unless the team gets red-hot during the final three games of the regular season and makes a deep run in the NFL playoffs.
However, the Eagles are currently back on track, with hopes of clinching the NFC East division title in the coming weeks.
In the locker room after Sunday’s dominant performance, Sirianni had a message for his team.
“We had that joy and confidence,” Sirianni said. “What a great example of you control your joy. You control your confidence. What a great lesson for life? Nobody else.”
The Eagles will go on the road in Week 16 to face the division rival Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium.
Jalen Hurts’ Five-Word Reaction to Win vs. Raiders

No one needed a bounce-back performance more than Hurts in Week 15. The Super Bowl MVP had an awful showing against the Chargers a week before taking on the Raiders, which prompted fans and the media to start questioning whether he should remain the starter moving forward, as the Eagles seemed to be imploding.
Fortunately, throwing for three touchdowns and coming away with a 31-point shutout can change the narrative a little bit, even if it came against potentially the worst team in the NFL.
Hurts shared a simple message after helping lead his team to its ninth win of the season.
“I wanted to win,” Hurts said. “That simple.”
With the Eagles bouncing back, the team inches closer to winning the NFC East division title and securing its spot in the postseason to defend its title.
In the final three weeks, the Eagles will face the Commanders (Week 16), Buffalo Bills (Week 17) and Washington for a second and final time in Week 18.
