NOTTINGHAM FOREST returned to winning ways with an impressive victory over Ipswich at the City Ground.

Forest entered the international break with a 3-1 loss to Newcastle and returned to action last week with a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal.

However, Nottingham climbed up to sixth place in the Premier League table thanks to Chris Woods’ winner from the penalty spot.

The hosts were awarded the spot-kick on 48 minutes when Sammie Szmodics caught Jota Silva’s ankle inside the Ipswich area.

Usual suspect Wood took on the shot and beat goalkeeper Arijanet Muric with a clinical finish a minute later.
