Nuno Espirito Santo admits Ola Aina’s injury is a concern after the defender was forced off during Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Manchester United on Tuesday evening.

Anthony Elanga’s brilliant solo effort sealed the victory for Forest, who have tightened their grip on third place in the Premier League, moving eight points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea.

However, Forest have been dealt a huge injury scare as Aina was forced off shortly before half time.

The 28-year-old, who has made 30 Premier League appearances this season, is now a doubt for Forest’s next match against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.

Aina also filmed some of his Forest teammates celebrating after the win against United and a pair of crutches was spotted by his seat in the dressing room.

‘We have to assess,’ Nuno said of Aina’s injury after Forest’s win over United.

‘It’s always a concern when a player is injured by himself so we’re going to scan and see how it is.’

Asked if it is a calf injury, Nuno replied: ‘Not quite sure. I think the scan will say exactly.’

Nuno also explained his decision to replace Danilo with Morato before half time: ‘After we scored the game went away from us,

‘We lost control of the game, United created many, many problems.

‘The injury of Ola, I thought we needed an extra body to help us and Morato did good.’
