Manchester United playmaker Omari Forson has rejected a new deal at the club in order to join Italian side Monza.

The 19-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with the Serie A outfit, with the option of a further 12 months.

United confirmed last week that Forson had been offered a new deal, and he was not included on their released list.

Forson made seven appearances last term and provided an assist on his Premier League debut for Kobbie Mainoo.

But Forson’s appearances dried up in the latter stages of the campaign and he wasn’t named in the squad that beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

The midfielder is now set to sign for Monza, who finished 12th in the table last term.

United will receive a compensation package for the midfielder, who was born in London.

The Red Devils remain in talks with Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans over contract extensions.

The pair are both out of contract on 30 June.
