Packers Insider Speaks on Green Bay’s Super Bowl Aspirations

Being the youngest team in football doesn’t scare the Green Bay Packers. With Jordan Love entering his third year as the starter, the team has done everything possible to surround him with as much talent as possible.

A few offseason deals allowed for the Packers to enter the 2025 season more dangerous than ever. Some expected the team to be even more aggressive, but that’s not Brian Gutekunst’s style. Regardless, this Packers insider has high hopes.

Rob Demovsky Previews the Packers 2025 Season Ahead of Training Camp

ESPN released an article breaking down each team’s “biggest storyline” heading into training camp. Knowing how the Packers performed last season, their biggest struggle was against top teams in the league. They were one of three NFC North teams to make the playoffs, but four of their losses came against the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.

Knowing they open their season against the Lions, Green Bay doesn’t have much time to get things together. No one is holding out of training camp, as the Packers expect their full crew to participate once camp begins.

Other than a few minor injuries, this team remains mostly intact from what they had last year. Love seems healthier than ever as Aaron Banks and Nate Hobbs were key free-agent signings.

Before Demovsky got his quote in, ESPN begged the question if the Packers have a Super Bowl-caliber roster. They questioned Gutekunst’s urgency this off-season, which led to the Packers insider to clarifying his quote.

“The urgency comment is really more for our team, our organization to understand what the expectations are,” Demovsky said.

He added, “We’ve got a bunch of good guys in that locker room, we’ve got a bunch of talented guys in that locker room, and I think it’s time we started competing for championships, right? I think they’re ready.”

Packers Quest to Raise the Lombardi Trophy

Keep in mind, Love won a playoff game in his first year as a starter. It was a dominant victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Not only that, but the team hung in there, twice, against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Even though they failed to beat the Eagles in their playoff game, the Packers saw vast improvement. Love’s numbers were down, but his health was questioned throughout the entire season. Josh Jacobs made an immediate impact on the team, as did Xavier McKinney. If Banks and Hobbs can give half of what those two did last season, they’ll be in good shape.

The schedule is a gauntlet, as beginning against the Lions and Washington Commanders is no easy feat. There’s a real chance this team begins the season 0-2. If that happens, it’ll be a wakeup call for sure. Struggling against good teams was the story of last season, with Green Bay looking to re-write their fate in 2025.

An early Week 5 bye could work against the Packers. There are a few key games in the second-half as Green Bay goes head-to-head with the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens. Those will play a pivotal part in their postseason chances, especially if they once again drop four games to the Lions and Vikings.
