The Carolina Panthers may have one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL. With Bryce Young under center, Chuba Hubbard is the lead back on a team with exciting rookies such as Tetairoa McMillan.
With the NFC South running through the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Panthers are looking to change that this season. Young being benched last year has been talked about enough, but it was truly a career-saving move that paid off.
Bryce Young Doesn’t Bite When Kay Adams Asks Who the Team’s Top Receiver is
The Up & Adams Show has been making rounds to numerous training camps. A stop in Carolina is exactly what the Panthers needed to get a few more eyes on their explosive offense.
A graphic was shown on screen that the team averaged 24.3 points per game in their final eight games last season. Dave Canales took a huge risk by benching Young, but it was the wake-up call he needed. Now, Young is more confident than ever heading into the 2025 season.
In a 10-minute discussion with Kay Adams, Young spoke about entering his third year in the league. With the addition of McMillan and getting a healthy Xavier Legette, this offense is at an all-time high. Adam Thielen returns to the team as Adams tried to ask the Heisman winner who is WR1.

“Everyone. It’s a unit. It’s a team. You gotta try. You gotta do your job,” Young stated.
A separate interview saw Canales confirm that Young will suit up for the preseason, “Absolutely. My plan is to play a series or two with the starters for the first two preseason games. I’m excited to get them out there.”
Bryce Young Hypes Up His First-and-Second Year Receivers
Legette is entering his second year in the league after being selected No. 32 in the 2024 draft. Carolina has done everything in their power to bulk up Young’s offense, which continued with the No. 8 pick in the 2025 draft. Regardless, Young spoke about the South Carolina graduates toughness and grit out on the field.
“You definitely see a dog out on the field,” Young said. “You can tell he lives for that stuff. When the moment gets big, he’s the one that wants the ball.”
The 6’3” 227-pound receiver finished his rookie season with 497 yards and 4 touchdowns. He missed one game, but Young knew that there was more going on behind the scenes.
“A lot of people don’t know what he was all going through last year. A lot of little things he was dealing with through the season and that’s just not who he is. He never brought it up, never talked about it, he was fighting with the training staff,” Young added.
The Panthers quarterback is one of many to shower McMillan with praise. T-Mac, as he’s known, has seemingly done everything right in training camp so far.
Young continued, “His ball skills and feel. He’s someone that plays the game so instinctually. He’s always in the right place… Super big catch radius, makes our jobs easy at the quarterback position.” T
Carolina’s third-year QB praised the rookie receiver for always communicating after a play. That’s the type of hunger he likes to see out of his offense, one that has high hopes for the 2025 season.
