It goes without saying that Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation, so when he notices talent, it’s the real deal. Now, he’s reacting to some news the NFL shared during the 2025 NFL Flag Championships.
Jacksonville Jaguars Elite flag football player Brysen Wright had one of the craziest and most beautiful catches that’s probably ever been made in flag football on Saturday, July 19. Wright is a wider receiver for the Jaguars-sponsored 14U flag football team. He made an incredible, almost surreal catch at Saturday’s 2025 NFL FLAG Championships in Canton, Ohio.
It almost looked as if Wright had super powers when he made this catch, and people took notice, including Mahomes. Now, the quarterback is sharing just how stunned he is about the young football player. So, this is the future of the franchise.
Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs Reacts to NFL Clip
The NFL shared the news of the catch as soon as it happened in a post on X stating, “A catch you have to see to believe.” Followers were quick to comment on the post, with one stating, “This is one of the best catches of all time.” Another said, “Best catch I’ve ever seen I’m not even kidding.” One more added, “Unbelievable one hand catch. Kept his eyes stuck on the ball.”
Mahomes witnessed the wild catch on Saturday and couldn’t keep quiet about it. He took to X to share the clip and commented, “Yooo what?” with a bunch of laughing faces. Of course, this was no laughing matter, but Mahomes must have been overcome with excitement.
Wright is already one of the top recruits in the wide receiver position from the class of 2028 in Jacksonville’s Mandarin High School. He apparently already has offers from big-named schools, such as LSU, Texas, Florida and North Carolina. It will be a thrill to see what this player will do in college football and, probably, the NFL.
