Patriots Super Bowl Champion Mourns Loss of His Daughter

New England Patriots great Kevin Faulk is mourning the loss of his daughter, Tanasha, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Oschner Lafayette Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana, according to an online obituary and the Acadiana Advocate.

She was 30 years old. No cause of death has been released at this time.

“Family was the center of Tanasha’s world, especially her three daughters, who were the greatest blessings of her life,” her obituary states. “Being their mother brought her so much joy, and she was immensely proud watching them grow and learn. Tanasha also found joy in holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, and especially Mardi Gras. She loved to cook and was happiest when preparing meals that brought people together. Her generosity, laughter, and loving nature created a sense of home wherever she went.

“Tanasha will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and the light she brought to all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her beautiful girls and family.”

This tragic news comes after Faulk and his wife lost their daughter, Kevione Faulk, in September 2021 at the age of 19.

Tanasha is survived by her three children, her partner, her sister, hers brothers, and her parents.

At the beginning of his press conference on Wednesday, head coach Mike Vrabel started by offering his condolences to Kevin Faulk and his family following the tragic passing of his daughter.

“I want to send anything we can, well wishes to Kevin and Latisha Faulk. Obviously, we’re all heartbroken,” Vrabel said. “Kevin was a teammate, he’s a huge part of this legacy here of this football team. The impact that he made here, and coaching in college, and how much he loved LSU, I’m sure there’s no words to describe what they’re going through.

“But I just wanted to make sure everybody knows that we care deeply about Kevin and his family, and our thoughts and prayers are with him.”

Faulk spent his college career at LSU, becoming the team’s star running back, earning All-American and All-SEC honors as well, and claiming the record for the program’s all-time rushing yards leader. He then went on to play for the New England Patriots, where he won three Super Bowl championships, but returned to his alma mater after retirement to become an assistant coach.

“We are heartbroken with the passing of Kevione Faulk, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Faulk family,” LSU said in a statement (per E! News). “She was a part of the LSU family, and we mourn the loss of a daughter, a sister, a friend, a classmate, and a colleague.”

“We ask that all Tigers keep the Faulks in their prayers and respect their privacy at this difficult time,” they continued.
