Patriots Urged To Gamble For Six-Time All-Pro Player

The New England Patriots have let quarterback Drake Maye sling the ball in the first four games of the 2025 season, with the QB having 200+ yards in each game.

Key signing Stefon Diggs was able to have his best game in a Patriot uniform in the Week 4 win against the Carolina Panthers, hauling in 101 yards on six catches, almost half of his season stats in the victory.

The $63.5 million signing currently leads the Patriots with 19 receptions after four weeks and will continue to build as he learns Josh McDaniels’ offense.

Kayshon Boutte has the second most yards, but has only logged 62 yards since recording 103 yards in the season opener. Three of the Patriots‘ top five receiving threats are at a different position than wide receiver.

With New England needing help getting Maye a true threat on the field, one NFL writer believes the Patriots should target a former Super Bowl winner.

Tyreek Hill To New England?

Drake Maye is currently one of the top 10 leading passers in the league after four weeks and could use a weapon alongside Stefon Diggs.

FanSided’s Christopher Kline believes the New England Patriots should try to acquire Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

The Stefon Diggs era of the New England Patriots probably won’t last long, but it’s clear the Drake Maye era will. The new signal-caller in Foxboro is taking a huge sophomore leap… It’s time to start surrounding him with real weapons every season,” Christopher Kline wrote. “Again, the knee injury muddles his future, but there’s every reason to believe Hill can still be a useful contributor in 2026…”

“Maye has all the tools you could ask for at the quarterback position, from mobility and improvisational skills, to a massive arm that he’s beginning to tap into with greater frequency. Hill can help him level up even more, giving the Patriots arguably the greatest vertical threat in the NFL… New England can deploy Hill on a variety of routes all over the field and trust that he would embrace life with a far better quarterback.”

Hill was off to a good start to the season before suffering an injury on Monday night, logging in 265 yards and a touchdown reception.

Hill Suffers Season Ending Injury

Former Chiefs and current Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill suffers knee injury in Week 4.

GettyTyreek Hill was carted off by the Miami Dolphins‘ medical team on Monday Night Football.

Tyreek Hill has suffered a dislocated knee injury and multiple torn ligaments in his knee that will end his season.

While Hill can be a weapon for Drake Maye and Josh McDaniels, the team will have to see how he fairs after he recovers.

Not only that, the Dolphin wide receiver would be 32 years old the next time he would take the field. While there are older wide receivers in the league, they are not the norm.

Hill is still under contract until the end of the 2026 season. If New England were to acquire the receiver, who has six 1,000+ yard seasons, the Patriots would need to give up some considerable assets.
