Philadelphia 76ers Give Delightful Joel Embiid Injury Update

The Philadelphia 76ers have been dealing with an injured Joel Embiid for the last few years. Embiid has been one of the most injured superstars in the NBA. Embiid has been dealing with knee injuries over the last few years, including one this year.

So far this season, Embiid has only played in six games this season. In the last two seasons, Embiid has only played in 25 games thus far. Without Embiid, the 76ers have turned to Tyrese Maxey to be the leader of the offense.

Embiid has been working hard to get back to basketball. According to Nick Nurse, Embiid is making some positive progress.

Philadelphia 76ers Coach Gives Positive Joel Embiid Update

Nurse said that Embiid remains day-to-day with his knee injury. Nurse also indicated that the 76ers are just waiting for the doctors to clear him. That’s a good sign, as it means that he could be cleared to come back and play for the team soon.

When asked how Embiid is taking the news, Nurse said that Embiid is in good spirits, but is still frustrated that he can’t be out there on the court. Embiid has tried everything he can to keep his knees healthy enough that he can play a full season, so the frustration is understandable.

Philadelphia currently sits eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. With Embiid in the lineup, they would likely be higher up. With Embiid and V.J. Edgecombe out with injuries, they are trying to hang around until they can have a fully healthy team.

The 76ers Are Getting More Out of Paul George

The 76ers recently got Paul George back after he suffered a knee injury in the offseason. Right now, George is still on a minutes restriction. As he continues to work himself back into playing shape, the increase in minutes should help them weather both of the injuries to Edgecombe and Embiid.

As the team works to get both Embiid and George healthy for the middle of the season, they should improve in the standings. Right now, the 76ers have a very average net rating, sitting at 16th in the NBA. Adding both key players back into the fold should allow them to increase that statistic.
