Premier League announce new date for last ever Everton vs Liverpool clash at Goodison Park but risk huge clash

THE PREMIER LEAGUE have announced the new date for the last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Everton’s clash with Liverpool was originally scheduled to be played on December 7, 2024.

But the clash was postponed due to poor weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh.

However, the new date of the clash will be on February 12.

TNT Sports will have the rights to the fixture, which will be played at 7.30pm.

Yet there is a risk the historic match could be postponed AGAIN.

That is because it is subject to Liverpool not playing in the Champions League knockout phase play-off round.

Arne Slot’s Reds currently top the Champions League league table with six wins from six and sit six points above the play-off round spots.

However, they are yet to mathematically secure a spot in the top eight and confirm qualification to the last-16 due to the possibility of a major goal difference swing.

Therefore, this means the clash with Everton at Goodison may be forced to be rearranged for a second time, though this risk should only be theoretical given Liverpool’s imperious form in Europe so far.

More to follow.
