Jose Sa tackled a fa that stormed the pitch at Portugal’s training camp

But the session was brought to a sudden stop after a dozen or so supporters stormed the pitch.

Security staff tried in vain to prevent them getting close to the Portugal players.

But Sa took matters into his own hands as tempers boiled over.

The Molineux gloveman was far more determined than any of the bib-wearing guards as he rushed over to the touchline to scrag one of the pitch invaders around the neck.

It would have earned Sa a red card in a match situation but indicated how frustrated the Portuguese were to have their session so badly disrupted.

Portugal are preparing for their opening Euro 2024 clash next week when they take on the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
