Puka Nacua Gives Major Props To Teammate After Win On SNF

The Los Angeles Rams went undefeated in a difficult three-game stretch where all opponents had a record over 0.500.

Los Angeles has scored at least 21 points in 9 of their 11 games this season, showcasing an aggressive and high-scoring offense. At the helm of it all is quarterback Matthew Stafford leading the offense downfield.

The 17-year vet is leading the league with 30 passing touchdowns and has the fifth most passing yards after Week 12. Stafford has only two intercpetions on the season, but his last INT came 27 passing touchdowns ago in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

“I’m surrounded by really good players,” the QB said about his pass touchdown streak. “I’ve got great receivers, great [running] backs, tight ends, all of them are catching touchdowns… And I can’t do any of that if the guys up front (offensive line) aren’t doing what their doing and they’re doing a hell of a job.”

With how Stafford has been playing this season, he received positive words from one of his go to targets this season.

The connection between Puka Nacua and Matthew Stafford is one of the best in the league. Nacua accounts for just over a third of the QB’s passing yards this season.

Stafford had another lights-out game for the Rams this season, with the quarterback completing 25 of 35 passes for 273 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 34-7. Nacua had 7 receptions for 97 yards in the game.

A reporter asked Nacua about Stafford’s performances this season, with the WR giving his QB major props to the person throwing his way.

“The only way I really know how to describe it is: he’s on a heater right now,” Puka said of Stafford after the win against Tampa. “You don’t mess with the flow, you don’t mess with the energy. You look and you nod yes, and you know that he’s gonna go out there and make the right play. It’s been so fun to watch him operate and lead this offense because it feels like we’re hitting on all cylinders.”

“I think his attention to detail is something that he never misses an opportunity to be on the same page with … any of the receivers, the linemen, the tight ends. He takes those opportunities to make sure that the communication is on point, so it allows for success.”

MVP Candidate

Stafford was out a majority of the team’s training camp due to injury concerns with his back. There was concerns if he would be able to play in the season starter and risk of the QB reinjuring his back during the season.

Those concerns are no longer occuring. The quarterback has put his name in the MVP conversation and could be one of the leading candidates.

As mentioned he has 30 passing touchdowns and 2,830 passing yards this season, both in the top 5 in each statistic.

Stafford has helped the Rams to the best record in the NFC after the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys, with LA now having a good chance to take the number one seed heading into the playoffs.

Three of the final six opponents for the Rams have a positive record, but if Matthew Stafford can continue to perform at an MVP level, LA could have a bye in the postseason.
