Raiders LT Kolton Miller Breaks Silence on Huge Contract Extension

Kolton Miller wanted to be a Raider for life, and the left tackle is ecstatic that is likely to be the case.

After signing a massive three-year, $66 million contract to remain a member of the Las Vegas Raiders through his age-33 season, Miller opened up about his excitement to stay with the organization that drafted him in Oakland back in 2018.

Miller has started 107 of his 109 NFL games and has played 96-plus-percent of the Raiders’ offensive snaps in all but one of his seven seasons.

What Did Kolton Miller Say About His Contract Extension With The Raiders?

Miller was poised to enter this season as a pending unrestricted free agent, but the Raiders announced the contract extension, which will run through 2029, earlier this week.

“It feels great,” Miller said. “Obviously, the process has been a little bit ongoing, but I’m so glad it’s finally here, and it’s one less distraction and I’m so pumped to continue onward being a Raider. I’m really juiced.”

Though just a month shy of his 30th birthday, Miller is the senior-most member of the Raiders roster and one of the few to be with the organization dating back to its Oakland days. Still, he appreciated the club’s recognition of his hard work and thinks the extension sends a message his teammates can emulate.

“You put in the work, and it’s all about buying in and keep buying in each year because nothing’s given. You have to keep earning it each day,” Miller said. “I think it sends a great message to the team and the organization that they take care of their guys.

Miller lauded the Raiders organization’s efforts in getting a deal done, since he had been publicly stating his desire to stay with the club that picked him 15th overall at the 2018 NFL Draft out of UCLA.

“Communication was great,” Miller said. “I’m real glad how that turned out. Getting it done during training camp was a little bit of an added wrinkle, but I’m glad it got done and we can get back to work now.

“I’m so happy to be here in Vegas, and continuing my journey in Vegas, … so I’m juiced.”

What Did Kolton Miller Say About the 2025 Raiders Season?

The Raiders famously have not won a playoff game since the 2002 AFC Championship Game, when they were still in Oakland. Miller has only played in one postseason game in his career — a 26-19 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 15, 2022 — which is one of just two playoff games for the Raiders since they lost Super Bowl XXXVII.

Still, Miller still believes in the direction they are headed. He lauded first-year coach Pete Carroll, and general manager John Spytek, and expressed confidence in their vision, plus he loves his teammates.

“It’s family, camaraderie, brotherhood,” Miller said. “It’s pretty freaking cool.”

He also echoed Carroll’s sentiments that the team should have big expectations for the 2025 season.

“In trust in this organization,” Miller said. “I trust in Pete and the guys and the group we have. My heart is still in it, and we’re after for some wins this season. I’m excited to get it.”
