Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is off to a historic start in the NFL.
Through four games this season, he has hauled in 503 receiving yards and is currently on track to record over 2,000 yards, which would be a historic first-time milestone in the league.
Puka currently leads the league in receiving yards, receptions and targets, while getting his first receiving touchdown in Week 4.
“I think there’s a ton of trust that Puka has in Matthew [Stafford] in terms of where the ball is going to be, where is he putting it, why is he putting it there?… There’s a ton of trust, there’s a ton of rapport that those two have had that’s been built up over the last couple years as you alluded to. It’s two great players that are bringing some really cool stuff to life and it’s fun to watch,” head coach Sean McVay said of the chemistry between Nacua and Stafford, via Sports Illustrated.
Nacua’s performances to start the 2025 NFL season have earned him praise from a former two-time Super Bowl winner with the Rams.
Kurt Warner Praises Nacua

Kurt Warner was the quarterback during the St. Louis Rams‘ “Greatest Show on Turf,” leading the team to two Super Bowl wins from 1999 to 2001.
In those years, the Rams had two high-receiving wide receivers in Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, with Bruce having 3,742 yards and Holt logging 3,786 yards.
Warner opened up on Puka Nacua’s start to the season and the chances of him breaking any records from the 1999 – 2001 season.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they broke any of those,” the former Rams QB said on The Rich Eisen Show. “Their offense goes through Puka Nacua. Everything that they do, they move him around, you get him one-on-one… There’s such great with Matthew Stafford and Puka.”
“The catches that Puka makes on a weekly basis is amazing… He’s just a football player. He just knows how to get open. He understands what Matthew is seeing and how to use his body and find the open spots.”
Next Up For Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams will play the Week 5 Thursday Night game against the San Francisco 49ers.
San Fran will be without star EDGE rusher Nick Bosa, allowing an injured Rams offensive line to get more time to pick his target. With more time, it will allow wide receiver Puka Nacua to get open down the field.
Nacua has averaged 125.8 receiving yards in the four games in the season so far and could put up a similar number against the 49ers.
The Week 5 matchup against the 49ers will be the Rams‘ first NFC West opponent this season. If LA were to pull off the win, the Rams could find themselves high in the division.
