The Los Angeles Rams have the kind of assets that would most likely be required to pry 2023 AP Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett away from the Cleveland Browns. Moreover, their name has come up in recent speculation regarding the six-time Pro Bowler.
That discussion was purely speculative.
However, it shows just how the Rams are viewed as the kind of contender that would spring for such a move.
Insider Names Rams in Myles Garrett Trade Scenario

The Rams have not shown any inclination toward a trade for an edge rusher. They boast the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, Jared Verse, and third-year bookend Byron Young. Still, ESPN’s Dan Graziano mentioned them in a “totally hypothetical” scenario for Garrett.
In Graziano’s example, the Rams send “both of the 2026 first-round picks they have” to the Browns for Garrett. The All-Pro begins a four-year, $160 million contract in 2026.
Such a move would allow the Browns to “completely control” Round 1 in 2026 for a quarterback.
“I don’t think it’s out of the question that the Browns could trade Garrett — even this week — if he really wanted out,” Graziano wrote on October 29, noting the significant financial ramifications for the Browns in such a move. “The acquiring team would have to pay Garrett a fairly reasonable $31.5 million in fully guaranteed money in 2026 and about $30.5 million in 2027.
“All of this is to say, the idea of the Browns trading Garrett isn’t inconceivable, especially if that’s what he wants. He didn’t come out and say it in his news conference Sunday, but he also made it very clear he’s not happy with the way things are going. It would be the biggest move of this trade deadline — or of next offseason’s trade market — by quite a bit. But if a team is desperate for an impact pass rusher, it might also be a call worth making.”
Garrett, who requested a trade before signing his extension, expressed frustration with how this season has gone for the Browns. The Browns have maintained that they have no plans to trade Garrett. Even a demand from the player may not be enough.
Moreover, the Rams may have little interest in such a costly trade, despite how good a player Garrett is.
Sean McVay Gets Honest About Rams’ Plans

GettyLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay looks on against the Houston Texans.
The Rams acquired cornerback Roger McCreary from the Tennessee Titans. However, head coach Sean McVay would not rule out another move before the deadline. That is on November 4 at 4 p.m. ET.
“I wouldn’t say no,” McVay told reporters on October 29. “It’s not something that we’ve really talked about. I think if certain opportunities arise that you feel like it gives you a chance to be able to significantly upgrade your football team. But I feel really good about our group and the growth that I still think can be had from us in spite of doing some good things. And that’s really in all three phases.”
Of course, there is a lot of wiggle room between McVay’s comments and the Rams going all in on a trade for Garrett.
