Rams Named Landing Spot For 28 TD Weapon Following Davante Adams Injury

The Los Angeles Rams will need all hands on deck for the final few weeks of the 2025 regular season.

LA is currently tied for the best record in the NFC and will need to win its key matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football to be in sole possession of the first seed in the conference.

$44 million wide receiver Davante Adams is currently dealing with a hamstring injury and is considered week-to-week ahead of the divisional game. Adams has not yet been ruled out for the game against Seattle despite not practicing on Monday.

The severity of Adams’ injury has yet to be disclosed, but it would put the Rams at a disadvantage if they didn’t have their touchdown leader on the field. On the season, the wide receiver has registered 789 passing yards and 14 receiving touchdowns.

LA could be in the market for a receiver who can fill in for the injured Adams the next few weeks and into the playoffs, which could give the team a good chance of being the first seed in the NFC.

Matthew Stafford currently has the most passing touchdowns in the league this season, with almost a third of them going in the direction of Davante Adams.

If Adams were to be out for the final three games of the season, the Rams could find themselves in a position to get a wide receiver who can replace him for the time being.

The New York Jets recently waived Allen Lazard following the team’s Week 15 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to USA Today’s Cory Woodroof, the Los Angeles Rams are a potential landing spot for Lazard, who could help fill the gap left by Adams’ departure.

“The Rams could add Lazard to the roster and see if he meshes with Sean McVay’s offense,” Woodroof wrote. If he hits, he could be a nice boost for a Los Angeles team trying to win a Super Bowl.”

The 2025 season hasn’t been good for the former Jets receiver and the rest of the receiving cast, with no receiver having more than 400 yards on the season. In 10 games for New York this season, Lazard has 10 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Lazard is looking to sign with a playoff team if he were to clear the waiver wire.

As mentioned, this hasn’t been the best season for Allen Lazard, but he can produce with a solidified QB1 throwing his way.

In the 2022 season with the Green Bay Packers, Lazard recorded 788 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns with Aaron Rodgers throwing his way.

If the wide receiver were to make his way to the City of Angels, he would have Matthew Stafford as his quarterback, who is also currently playing like an MVP candidate.

Lazard is a tall receiver who can fight for the ball on any given play and get mismatches against smaller defenders guarding him, which would be something head coach Sean McVay would take advantage of.

The wide receiver could be a good addition to this Super Bowl-contending team, but Lazard needs to become a free agent first.
