The Los Angeles Rams have begun the 2025 season with a 2-0 record despite starting quarterback Matthew Stafford dealing with back issues in training camp.
Stafford has thrown for 543 passing yards and 3 pass touchdowns, showing that he is healthy for the season and isn’t anything to worry about.
ESPN released its latest power rankings ahead of Week 3, with the Rams making a small rise ahead of their next matchup against the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
After Week 2, Los Angeles was listed as the 7th-best team by ESPN’s rankings. Now, the team is ranked as the 6th-best team.
“Despite missing a significant portion of training camp with an aggravated disk in his back, Stafford has played well to start the season. Coach Sean McVay said Stafford was “in total command” in the second half of the Rams’ victory over the [Tennessee] Titans, Sarah Barshop wrote for ESPN.”
“And although Stafford didn’t get as much training camp practice time as he had hoped with new wide receiver Davante Adams, the pair showed the chemistry they have built Sunday, connecting six times for 106 yards and a touchdown.”
Los Angeles Rams Bright Spots

The Los Angeles Rams have had a few bright spots so far in the league.
As mentioned, Matthew Stafford has been playing well after his back troubles earlier in the year and has now proven that it’s no longer an issue. Stafford has become the 10th quarterback in NFL history to surpass 60k passing yards, which can be considered a good omen for the team this season.
The Rams’ defense has looked good, as they have allowed only 14 points per game through the two games of the season.
The defensive line is being headlined by third-year EDGE rusher Byron Young, who currently leads the team with three sacks. Young is currently tied for the fourth most sacks in the league with 3, only half a sack behind the leaders.
On the offensive side of the ball, the wide receivers have looked elite for the Rams. Puka Nacua is currently fourth in receiving yards with 221 yards and key-signing Davante Adams appears to be integrating well, as he has 157 receiving yards, the 12th most in the league.
Running back Kyren Williams has had a slow start to this season, rushing for 132 yards, but could be getting back into the swing of things after the offseason.
Injuries To The Rams

While the Rams are off to a good start, they have suffered a few injuries along the way.
Starting cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon has suffered a broken clavicle and will be out a minimum of three months. Defensive end Braden Fiske suffered an oblique injury and it has yet to be confirmed if he will play in the Week 3 matchup.
Starting offensive lineman Steve Avila has a sprained ankle that will keep him out for a few weeks. Tight end Colby Parkinson was injured in the season opener and it has yet to be confirmed if he will play.
The Rams will take on their toughest challenge of the season early in the year against the Eagles in a rematch of the 2025 NFC Divisional round.
With the injuries surround the Rams, the team would need a good performance to defeat the defending champs.
