Ravens Get Good News on Lamar Jackson After Practice Injury

It’s all systems go for Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens star quarterback returned to practice Friday, calming any concerns about his status for Sunday’s game against the Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium.

Jackson did not participate Thursday after being limited Wednesday because of an ankle injury.

After returning from a hamstring injury that kept him out three games, Jackson has dealt with multiple lower-body injuries. The two-time MVP has thrown for 1,841 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions on 64.8% passing. However, he’s gone three straight games without a touchdown pass and hasn’t run for a score since Week 1.

The Ravens are 4-1 in Jackson’s last five starts.

Injuries Piling Up for Jackson

Jackson’s return is a significant development for the Ravens, who are tied with Pittsburgh atop the AFC North at 6-6.

He’d dealt with knee and ankle issues the previous two weeks before popping up on the injury report following a Thanksgiving loss to the Bengals, in which he threw for 246 yards and one interception.

The Ravens struggled mightily in Jackson’s absence, with Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley combining for only one touchdown and four interceptions in three games. They went 1-2 and scored only 43 points in those contests, with 30 coming in a Week 8 victory over the Bears.

Ravens Defensive Star Absent From Practice

Elsewhere on the Ravens’ injury report, wide receivers Rashod Bateman (ankle) and Devontez Walker (groin), safety Ar’Darius Washington (Achilles), cornerback Nate Wiggins (foot) and linebacker Tavius Robinson (foot) were listed as limited Thursday. Defensive tackle Travis Jones (personal) joined Jackson in not practicing.

Sunday is the first of two meetings over the final five weeks against the rival Steelers, with the return to Pittsburgh slated for Week 18. The Ravens are 5-1 since a 1-5 start but have little margin for error with the AFC wild card race heating up.
