Robert Saleh’s Brother Rips Jets in Social Media Post After 0-5 Start

After the New York Jets suffered their fifth consecutive defeat to open the 2025 season — this time at the hands of the Cowboys in embarrassing fashion — and fans are understandably upset. The Jets are now the lone winless team in the NFL after the Saints and Titans both won in Week 5, and after playing some competitive football early in the season, they were absolutely demolished by Dallas.

One person who took to X/Twitter to express their feelings after the game was David Saleh, brother of former Jets head coach Robert Saleh. David ripped into Jets ownership for firing his brother after last season and compared where the team was a year ago to where they find themselves now.

Last year the Jets were 2-3 [and] playing for first place in their division when [Jets owner] Woody Johnson declared that ‘the best roster in franchise history needed a spark,’ Saleh said in his post, referring to when Johnson fired Robert Saleh after Week 5 back in 2024. Since then the Jets defense has gone from first to worst donning a record of 3-14. #allgasnobrake #AGNB #VictoryMonday #thespark”

It’s true that Robert Saleh never had much success in New York, and in fact he continually underachieved during his tenure. But it’s also true that the team has been even worse since he was dismissed, and the 0-5 start to this season under new head coach Aaron Glenn isn’t inspiring confidence in the new regime.

To be clear, Saleh was not good as the head coach of the Jets. His first season in 2021 he went 4-13, before two seasons at 7-10 in 2022 and 2023. He lasted five games into 2024 before being fired, and was 2-3 at the time. The team went on to finish 5-12.

But Saleh did do a few things successfully. While he never had a good offense, Saleh’s defenses were among the league’s best. His teams ranked fourth, third, and third in total defense league-wide during his last three seasons as head coach.

New York hasn’t been good in a very long time, and Saleh certainly wasn’t the remedy. But on that note…

New HC Aaron Glenn has an Uphill Battle to Make the New York Jets Good Again

It’s not looking good early for Glenn. The Jets are 0-5, ranking near the bottom of the league in passing offense, total defense, points allowed, and run defense.

It’s hard to know how much blame to place at the feet of Glenn, however. It is his first season, after all, and this roster has many, many issues. There was no way this rebuild would take just one year.

Even more than that, the Jets organization has been mired in mediocrity — or worse — for a long time. At what point do they stop cycling through head coaches and general managers and start looking higher up?
