Chris Eubank Jr’s grand arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of his fight with Conor Benn didn’t go exactly to plan – with the fighter and his father stuck in a lift hours before the opening bell.

The Eubanks arrived in style together in north London ahead of Saturday night’s rematch, the latest installment of the family feud.

The pair were all smiles as their car pulled up – a repeat of scenes from the first fight in April where they were reunited having been estranged for a number of years prior.

With the undercard in full swing at the stadium, the Eubanks were briefly trapped in the lift with Jr joking it was an act of ‘sabotage’.

DAZN reported the pair were stuck in the lift en route to their dressing room.

‘The sabotage begins again, our lift doesn’t work. It’s okay,’ Eubank Jr joked.

‘You can stop the lifts, you can stop the cars from coming in, but you cannot change your fate my friend. That schooling is hours away.’

Chris Eubank Snr added:’Everything that happens, happens for our own good.’

A voice off-camera is then heard telling the pair they’ll have to take the stairs.

The Eubanks received a huge ovation when they arrived together in April but rumours have claimed the former two-weight world champion was paid a fee to attend his son’s fight.

Eubank Sr dismissed the claims, suggesting they originated from his old foe Nigel Benn.

‘Whoever told Nigel that I was paid whatever sum of money, they lied to you,’ Eubank Snr said.

‘You spouting what they told you makes you a liar. So expose who told you that lie in order to clean your name. Otherwise, who in the future is going to believe you on anything you say?

‘I’m not easily angered, Nigel. And I keep no record of wrongs. You can’t pay me anything. I’m here for heart, love.’
