Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe “Hollywood” Horn will be honored as part of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The announcement came on Wednesday morning, giving well-deserved recognition to a career that combined flamboyance with steady production.
Horn spent seven seasons in New Orleans and became one of the most dynamic players in franchise history. He earned four Pro Bowl selections, topped 1,000 receiving yards four times, and tied the team record with 28 games of more than 100 yards receiving. By the time he left the Saints, he had 523 catches for 7,622 yards and 50 touchdowns. Horn currently ranks third in franchise history in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
Legacy Beyond the Numbers
Horn was known for his confidence and personality, but his production proved just as memorable. From 2000 through 2006 he was among the league’s most reliable receivers. His overall career spanned 12 seasons with New Orleans, Kansas City, and Atlanta, finishing with 603 receptions, 8,744 yards, and 58 touchdowns.
The Saints reflected on his impact in their announcement. “Horn’s flash matched his substance in New Orleans,” the team wrote, noting how his career was filled with both showmanship and production.
The 2026 Induction Class
Horn joins a deep Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame class that will be inducted June 25 through 27, 2026, in Natchitoches during the Hall’s 67th Induction Celebration.

Horn’s story adds weight to the honor. Before reaching the NFL, he worked in fast food and came from a junior college background, making his rise to stardom unlikely. His trademark celebrations, especially the 2003 cell phone moment hidden in the goalpost padding, remain part of NFL highlight reels.
Lasting Impact
The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame recognizes the state’s greatest athletes and coaches, and Horn now takes his place among them. His career in New Orleans helped change how the Saints were viewed, bringing excitement and credibility to a team in search of both.
