San Francisco Giants Legend Sets Impressive Record On Popular Social Media

On Thursday August 14, 2025, former San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence was elected into the “Hall of Pretty Good” with a record-setting 98% of the vote.

The “Hall of Pretty Good” is a social media network and player database run by Bryce Whitlow. It has gained hundreds of thousands of fans on social media in recent months, all of whom love to celebrate players who may not be all-time greats, but were still beloved by the fanbase they played in front of.

Tens of thousands of fans vote in “Hall of Pretty Good” elections, which take place on the @mlbhallofgood Instagram account. The fact that Pence was able to earn 98% of tens of thousands of people is astounding. It goes to show how beloved of a baseball player he is.

And, that he was pretty good at baseball, too.

Many people felt the staggering 98% total was still too low. Former Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Dee Strange-Gordon, who is also in the “Hall of Pretty Good” chimed in on that in the comments.

“That 2% sucks,” Gordon said.

The Best of Pence in A Giants Uniform

When the Giants got Hunter Pence at the 2012 Trade Deadline from the Philadelphia Phillies, they knew they were getting a superstar baseball player.

And Pence was a superstar in a Giants uniform. He won two World Series with the Giants, made the 2014 All-Star team, hit 95 home runs and had a myriad of iconic moments on the field.

But the person Pence actually turned out to be meant so much more to the franchise.

He was the heart and soul of the 2012 and 2014 World Series teams, making inspiring speeches when the team’s backs were against the wall. He brought the “Yes! Yes! Yes!” movement to San Francisco, which became a rallying cry for both of those World Series runs.

He also endeared fans with his quirky style of play and personality, inspiring fans across the country to make funny signs about him, such as “Hunter Pence Eats Pizza With a Fork.”

He was a beacon of positivity and wholesome leadership. There’s a reason the franchise keeps him around as a broadcaster. He’s the kind of guy you just want around your team all the time.

Pence made three other All-Star teams in his career. Fans of the Houston Astros, Phillies and Texas Rangers loved having him as well.

Other Giants in the Hall of Pretty Good

Hunter Pence is the most famous Giants player in the Hall of Pretty Good, but he is not the only one.

Two of Pence’s former teammates in the Giants outfield, Denard Span and Austin Jackson, are members of the Hall of Pretty Good.

Span was with the Giants from 2016-17 and played an instrumental role in the Giants’ 2016 run to the NLDS.

Jackson spent half of the 2018 season with the Giants before he was traded to the Rangers.

AJ Pierzynski is also in the Hall of Pretty Good. The Two-Time All-Star catcher spent the 2004 season with the Giants before heading to the Chicago White Sox and winning a World Series with them there in 2005.

Finally, Scott Kazmir, who made 4 starts for the Giants back in 2021, is enshrined in the Hall of Pretty Good.

The Giants hope to add lots more members in the future. They’ve had plenty of fan favorite players over the years that are perfect for the Hall of Pretty Good.

Giants fans, what is your favorite Hunter Pence memory?
