Scottie Scheffler Drops Major Cowboys Super Bowl Truth Bomb

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996, when they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17 in Super Bowl XXX. That means that a large contingent of Cowboys fans have never seen their team win a championship, let alone appear in the Big Game. That includes PGA Tour superstar Scottie Scheffler, who recently made waves for revealing what he’d do to see Dallas finally win a Super Bowl.

While Scheffler was born in New Jersey, his family moved to Dallas, Texas, when he was six years old, which led to him becoming a Cowboys fan. While he was born in 1996, his birthday fell in June, after Dallas won their most recent title in January. As a result, he’s never seen his favorite team win it all, and it sounds like he’d do quite a bit in order to see them climb back to the top of the mountain in the NFL.

Scottie Scheffler Would Give up a Major Championship for a Cowboys Super Bowl

After playing golf in college for the Texas Longhorns, Scheffler turned pro after graduating. Since then, Scheffler has quickly turned himself into the best golfer in the world. He’s won 17 PGA Tour championships in his young career, including four Major championships, with his latest seeing him win The Open Championship for the first time in his career.

All along the way, Scheffler has remained a fan of the Cowboys, even though things have been tough for the fanbase in recent years. While the team has had no trouble making it to the playoffs since their most recent Super Bowl, they have just a 5-13 record during that stretch, as they have failed to even advance to the NFC Championship Game.

Entering the 2025 campaign, there’s reason for optimism surrounding Dallas, as they are looking to put together a bounce-back season after laboring through last year’s slate of games. Whether or not they are a true Super Bowl contender remains to be seen, but Scheffler is certainly hopeful. When asked what he would give up in order to see the Cowboys win it all, Scheffler shockingly revealed he’d be willing to surrender one of his Major championships.

“Gosh, I don’t know,” Scheffler said on “Pardon My Take.” “I would trade one (Major championship), for sure, for a Super Bowl.”

There have been quite a few seasons where the Cowboys have come up short during Scheffler’s lifetime, but they have a strong core group in place heading into the new season. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens are a potent trio on offense, while the defense is filled with stars, headlined by perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate Micah Parsons.

The problem is that the NFC East is ripe with contenders, as the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders made it to the NFC Championship Game last year. It’s not going to be a cakewalk for Dallas with that in mind, but if everything breaks their way, they could make Scheffler a very happy guy if they go on to win the Super Bowl this year.
