Shedeur Sanders’ Latest Post Has Browns Fans Buzzing

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is working in the shadows.

The Browns’ rookie quarterback posted a video to social media Monday showing him grinding through a midnight training session in Texas, set to a track that appears to be his own — a song titled “Too Legit.” The footage featured Sanders sprinting through the dark, shirtless and focused.

The video quickly went viral, registering thousands of views and hundreds of comments.

“That man is bussing his backside,” one fan commented. “I just hope the Browns give him the opportunity. That’s all we ask for.”

Another wrote: “We all believe in you, young man. Keep pushing and know that both your day and blessings are on the way.”

The clip is the latest in a recent surge of training footage featuring Sanders following the conclusion of minicamp. Other videos have shown the rookie quarterback working out in the rain in Miami, focusing on his footwork, mechanics, and accuracy as he prepares for his first NFL training camp.

Shedeur Sanders Taking Patient Approach With Browns

Sanders is expected to enter training camp as the No. 4 quarterback on the depth chart. He’s in a room that also includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. He’s facing an uphill battle after falling to the fifth round, where the Browns selected him with pick No. 144.

Sanders received limited reps in OTAs and minicamp. He also did not work with the first-team offense. But Sanders is not using that as an excuse as he looks to overcome the odds. He believes time is on his side.

“My goal is to be the best teammate and to be as polished as I can be in every aspect,” Sanders said. “I view things as I got time. I got time to be able to grow and mature and be able to understand the ins and outs of the defenses and be able to get the good insight from the vets in the room.

“So, I look at it as a plus. I got time to actually be able to really have a great understanding and whenever it’s time for me to play, then it’s time for me to play. But I’m not looking too far in the future about all that. I’m looking [at] every day in practice. … I’m focused on the small things and over time the big things will happen.”

Shedeur Sanders Faces Long Odds to Win Browns Starting QB Job

Sanders will have to make up some significant ground in training camp and preseason games. Flacco is currently the favorite to be the Week 1 starter, per FanDuel Sportsbook, coming in at -102. Pickett is next (+200), followed by Gabriel (+500) and Sanders (+870).

Even if Sanders doesn’t earn the Week 1 start, his opportunity could come later in the season. With low expectations surrounding the Browns, there will likely be pressure to evaluate both rookie quarterbacks at some point.

Cleveland owns two first-round picks in next year’s draft, valuable capital the team could use to target a potential franchise quarterback if neither rookie proves to be the long-term answer.
